My Story
45 Years experience in the Health Care Sector.
I have 24 Years experience in Occupational Health & Safety both at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Sinai Health. Once retired from Sunnybrook HSC, I moved to Sinai Health to complete an audit and assisted throughout the Pandemic. Prior to joining the OHS team at Sunnybrook HSC, I spent 20 years as an RN in the clinical settings of LTC, Neurosurgery and Trauma ICU.
Experience within the Occupational health clinical setting includes nursing, disability management, incident follow up, management and director roles.
Specialized experience in Violence Prevention; I have built the program at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre and revitalized the program for the Safety Team at Sinai Health. This area of expertise includes; risk assessments, serious incident reviews, classification of incidents, development of management tools to assist with investigations, safety plans and education & psychological safety.
Disability Management experience includes; creation of policies and procedures in a unionized environment. Expertise includes mental health and addiction in addition to short / long-term disabilities and WSIB claims.
IPAC experience relating to the safety of staff. This includes creation of policies and procedures for COVID, Influenza, Immunization requirements for Health Care as well as exposures in Health Care sector.
Safety related experience includes; constructions, MSK injuries, slips, trips and falls, violence prevention and IRS. I am presently working with the TASHN OHS Team developing a Violence Prevention Tool Kit with all updated legislation.
